Our ranking in the United Nations e-Government Survey
Singapore was ranked 12th in the world in 2022 as part of the United Nations e-Government Survey— an assessment that measures the development of all 193 United Nations member states.
The survey is published biennially and recognises that each country pursues e-Government initiatives to realise its own national development goals.
Denmark and Finland were the top two leading countries in e-Government development.

Singapore’s Smart City ranking
Singapore came 5th in the world and 1st in Asia as part of the IMD Smart Cities Indexin 2024.
It’s published by Switzerland’s Institute for Management Development (IMD) and used data to rank 141 cities by how they use technology to address the city’s challenges and improve the quality of life for its residents.
Zurich, Oslo and Canberra were the top three cities respectively.

Singapore's World Digital Competitiveness Ranking
Developed by the IMD World Competitiveness Center, the IMD World Digital Competitiveness Ranking assesses the ability and readiness of 64 economies to adopt and utilise digital technologies as a key driver for economic transformation in business, government, and society.
By combining quantitative data with survey responses from business and government leaders, these rankings offer valuable insights to help governments and companies focus their resources and identify best practices for digital transformation.
In 2023, Singapore was ranked 3rd out of 64 economies.

Singapore's ranking in Global Innovation Index (GII)
The Global Innovation Index (GII) evaluates the innovation capabilities of around 132 economies against a backdrop of economic and geopolitical uncertainty.
By ranking these economies based on approximately 80 indicators, the GII provides a comprehensive picture of innovation strengths and weaknesses, covering aspects like the political environment, education, infrastructure, and knowledge creation. This tool helps monitor performance and benchmark developments within regions or income groups, highlighting the multi-dimensional nature of innovation.
In the 2023 edition of GII, Singapore ranked 5th among the 132 economies featured.
